Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitarist. She also sings. She was among the youngest and the first woman to be awarded the British House of Commons Shield she's received Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to perform live in concert and be a presenter for the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar, one of the Indian young sitar artist. She is the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her early years of her life traveling between London as well as New Delhi. In the age of thirteen, she gave her debut performance at New Delhi. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha is still a young woman, however she's got an remarkable career in the field of music and performance. Her father has accompanied her in many performances for many years. She released her debut album in 1998. dropped Anourag as her first single album. The album was titled the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year following. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent much of her youth living between London and Delhi after which she moved to California in the state where she attended high school. Anoushka started her music studies at age nine. Four years later, she made her appearance on the sitar in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday party. As a part of her dad's band as they toured around the globe, Anoushka had a wealth of experience performing in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens performing at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival as well as recording alongside George Harrison. She was the youngest and only female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament in recognition of her artistry and musicianship as a preeminent musician of in the Asian Arts.
