Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actress for more than 20 years. She is best known for her role as Skyler White on The AMC show Breaking Bad for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Other roles she has played include Jean Ward in The Practice as well as Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell in love with acting in Preparatory before her Family moved to Ohio. She studied theatre in the theatre department at Northwestern University and spent a semester in the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her professional career working in the Chicago area theatres for a couple of years. After that, she switched to TV and film. Anna's first big part was Arden on Down the Shore. She was in 29 episodes. Following her appearance as a Guest Star in several TV Shows and films, such as Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue during the 90's and was later chosen to play Jean Ward as part of The Practice. In the mid 2000's she was cast in Deadwood playing Martha Bullock for two full seasons. Skyler played Martha Bullock as Martha Bullock in Breaking Bad (2008). Sully, the Deadwood film, and other movies were also starring her. Gunn also starred in David Schwimmer directed production Sex With Strangers. She also appeared in the podcast audio drama of four episodes called Numbered Days, which was released in 2022. The romance with Walter White and his wife Skyler is usually the main focus of the plot of Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and the eventual end of their relationship echoing the same storyline of Walter White's final days of his life.
